Riding across the US for Wounded Warriors

September 1st, 2009

As usual in the opinions of many, I have far too much time on my hands so I am going to do something I've been contemplating for a while now.

On Sept. 7th, I will be leaving on a solo bike tour from California to New York via Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

I will be riding a combination of road and dirt along the way including the Natchez Trace, Katy, Palmetto, C&O Canal and Allegheny Gap Trails.

Most of the Road riding will be on portions of the Adventure Cycling Association's Western Express, Trans-Am and Southern Tier Routes.

The ride is being done to raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors.

PURPOSE

* To raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women,
* To help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and
* To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

If you would like to make a donation in support of my ride, my personal fundraising page is at:

I am hoping to raise at least $10,000 for this noble cause.

Thanks.
